Resveratrol Improves Mobility in Elderly (Found Naturally in Choffy)

Reading the news this week I was excited to see a study on a familiar compound that I did research on during my PhD at the University of Missouri-Columbia (here’s a paper I published as first author). The article was about a recent study done that shows Resveratrol is beneficial for decreasing motor deficiencies in the aging population. This means better balance, more mobility for aging individuals. The article of course cites red wine as the source, but did you know that Cacao beans (what Choffy is made out of) is also a great source of Resveratrol?

Another study looked at various sources of Cocoa and their levels of Resveratrol and found the more raw form of Cacao (essentially what you would find in Choffy grinds) has the most amount of Resveratrol.

Resveratrol is known to have many positive benefits, including “antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, and anti-angiogenic” effects (see this Review on Resveratrol).

It’s exciting to see the research continue to confirm that Choffy is more than just a tasty beverage, but that Choffy is packed with healthy natural compounds. So put down that Pepsi or Diet Coke or Starbucks Latte, and enjoy a real beverage, Choffy.
